The joy of flight by long-forgotten-sense The joy of flight by long-forgotten-sense
Flying is one of the greatest gifts a creature can have, and trully a reason to be happy for. Here is my firs't completed dragon, enjoying the night sky. A white dragon - like an angel of their kind... It's the year of dragon afterall!

Technically I worked the same as usual with my Microsoft mouse and photoshop. I was inspired by my other work called Freedom : [link] - which is my best photography yet.

At the moment, I'm experiencing with new basic painting techniques I learn myself, as there is no one helping me at all. I want to get used to them, and slowly advance in the details...

Now about the pose, the dragon here is doing a turn. I tryed to draw his body as realistic as i could, in order to show that. I worked a lot on the character, so if you want to, please give me a good critique so I'll keep in mind your good advices! I only did one dragon before, which was a complete fail (a very old drawing of mine, in ms paint, about two years ago). This is my personal drawing style (If I could call it a style... it's more like a mess I think)

Thanks !

I wish that you wish comes true! There are plenty of ways to fly ;)

It would've been awesome if we had confirmation that dragons were real though... We know that nature might take the way of wyverns, so why should we stop believing? Heh, maybe, just maybe... somewhere out there... in another world...

We already do have a flying device that would take a human to the open skies! It's called Flynano, and there are also deltaplanes and jet packs. Any of them can feel like proper flying because there is just u and some wings!

We have three dimensions of space and one of time. These we can use to shape our world... Other dimensions? well maybe, but not within the reach of our natural senses. We just don't know yet...

Theres a big sort of flying machines. Every one is great but I prefer biological wings than iron made airplane or something.

Ohm, well yeah, but you won't ever grow wings ;) Being realistic makes your dreams come true ;)

If you really want to fly, you can. Humans have managed to build amazing stuff, even stuff that makes us airborn.

I don't even know how I should answer this... I know that its imposible to grow wings and fly away but You are not the first person that tried to tell me and ill be keep dreaming about this.
May be peoples find a way to change human into bird or dragon or whatever he wants but its going to be after my death...

Ooooooh, Now I get it!

Sorry, I now see how you mean it. Well, at least, for as long as you're a human maybe you can have an idea of what flying feels like! Try it someday.

I believe dragons do exist somewhere. Though, our souls and their souls are not directly compatible, as the legend says, so it would be inappropiate to be reborn as a dragon. I'm not trying to make you feel bad, legends are just legends. You are free to believe whatever you want, atleast you are very realistic about it! Very few people think it this way. I completely agree with your feeling - it's pure and genuine.

I myself would't like to be anything else but human, yet I would love to meet dragons someday. I can't see them as evil, like the majority of people does. And as a human, I could enjoy the feeling for them as I always dreamed about it. Being a dragon would not require such feeling, cause well... as dragons are different from us, being one of them wouldn't make any diffference so yeah... I would just like them to be what they are.

I personally don't believe in life after death do that's why I am struggling to get as close as I can to them, in this life, through art... for me there is one beginning, one end, one choice, and one chance. Once I chose a lifestyle, there is no way back, cause lifestyle means the whole life.

This is just me though, but you and I are different, so it's normal to have different opinions. I'm just happy you're lucid about it and you believe in something that might be rather possible. And it's good that we can talk about it, normally, cause some people are not open minded like you are.

Let me ask you something else? If creatures like lugia were real and you encountered one right in this life, what would u do? Actually what I'm trying to say, have you ever thought of their personality, behaviour and stuff? Cause it's going to be a whole different world. Or, u would just wait and discover?

Very interesting design for the dragon. It's pose reminds me of boxer who is about to give an uppercut :lol: I love it how the moon glows and how realistic that is. Still, if you wanted the dragon to be more realistic you should have worked a bit more with details and shading. Just my opinion ^^;

Otherwise, awesome work! Keep it going cause you totally got it

Thanks for the comment! Actually this is my only attempt to paint dragons, and I have chosen a cartoonish design because it was easier to paint... For some reason I thought I didn't deserve to paint dragons yet, but there is one awesome person here who showed me the way.

Creatures in my vision are different from dragons, for example : [link]

I will start painting dragons soon enough. That is my next move anyway, what you see here is just a sketch.

Thanks for appreciating it.
